About

Hello, stranger.

I’m the girl behind Letters After Midnight.

You can call me Crizzy, C, or Layne — honestly, anything but my full name. It’s long, and apparently asking people to pronounce it correctly is an unnecessary little challenge I’ve decided to spare everyone from. 😂

I’m in my mid-twenties, soon to be late-twenties? (yeah ouch that hurt to write) currently somewhere between “I have my life together” and “wait… what am I doing again?” — which I’m beginning to suspect is just adulthood.

I’ve always loved having little obsessions.

I love getting lost in a good book and telling myself “just one more chapter” when I absolutely know it will not be just one more chapter. I love anime, TV shows and movies, especially the kind that make me completely emotionally attached to fictional people who do not, unfortunately, know I exist. I mean, they don’t really exist either, but it doesn’t stop me from believing they do.

I have a slightly ridiculous love for animals. Deeply, seriously, probably too much. If there is an animal nearby, there is a very good chance my attention is no longer on whatever I was supposed to be doing.

I love discovering new places, trying new things, listening to music that matches whatever mood I’m in, and collecting little moments that probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else but somehow mean everything to me.

I’m also a big fan of the little things — a good coffee, a cozy evening, finding something I didn’t know I needed, laughing until my stomach hurts, staying up far too late, spending time with friends, my boyfriend and those completely ordinary days that somehow turn into memories you keep forever.

And then there are the other parts of life.

The confusing parts. The exciting parts. The “I really thought I had this figured out” parts.

I’m still learning. Still changing. Still figuring out what I want, who I am, and where I’m going.

That’s really why I created this little corner of the internet.

Sometimes the easiest way to understand life is to write about it.

Letters After Midnight is where I want to do exactly that.

You’ll find stories about my life, things I’m loving, things I’m learning, books I’m reading, shows I’m watching, hobbies, little adventures, random thoughts, and probably a healthy amount of me overthinking absolutely everything.

I don’t want this to be a place where everything is perfectly curated and polished.

I want it to feel a little more like sitting across from a friend at 1 a.m., talking about life when you’re both too tired to pretend you have all the answers.

Because I don’t.

And I’m not sure anyone does.

So, consider this my collection of letters — some written at midnight, some written the morning after, and some that took me years to understand.

Maybe you’ll find something here that makes you laugh.

Maybe you’ll find something that feels familiar.

Or maybe you’ll just find a cozy little corner of the internet to visit when you need somewhere to wander for a while.

Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

Stay a little. ☾
